Mika Singh is an Indian pop singer and rapper and has lent his voice to many Bengali films.  He is a very popular Punjabi singer.  He has sung songs in many Bollywood movies including Singh Is Kinng and Jab We Met.


 background

 Amrik Singh alias Mika Singh was born on 10 June 1977 in Durgapur district of West Bengal.  His father Ajmer Singh Chandan and mother Babir Kaur both had knowledge of music.  Mika is the younger brother of Punjabi and Hindi singer Daler Singh Mehndi.  Due to the musical atmosphere in the house, Mika was associated with music since childhood.  He started taking music lessons in his childhood.  He is very fond of playing Tabla, Harmonium, and Guitar.  Mika released his first solo album Sawan Mein Lag Gayi Aag at the age of 21.  After that, singing songs like 'Something-Something, Ishq Brandi' attracted the attention of the youth.

 film career

 Mika started his film career with the film Pyaar Ke Side Effects.  Mika sang many great songs in his film career.  For which he was also honored with many awards.  Along with singing, Mika has also tried his hand in the field of acting.  Mika has played the role of Michael in the Punjabi film 'Raith Kapoor' and more recently Balwinder in the film 'Balwinder Singh Famous Ho Gaya'.



 TV career

 Mika has appeared as a judge in many TV shows.  Currently, Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan, Himesh Reshammiya are seen as judges in The Voice of India on Mika & TV.
