Ankit Tiwari is an Indian playback singer and music director.  His career began after meeting Pradeep Sarkar where he got an opportunity to work for jingles and composed background scores for television programmes.  After this, he got offers to compose music for the films Do Dooni Chaar and Sahab Biwi Aur Gangster.  He rose to fame as a singer with the song 'Sun Raha Hai Na Tu' from the film Aashiqui 2.  This song as well as the album of the film was nominated for two Filmfare Awards, in which it won the Best Music Director award.  In 2014, she once again worked with Mohit Suri who was also the director of Aashiqui 2 for the film Ek Villain where she composed and sang the song 'Galiyan'.  For this song, he received two nominations at the Filmfare Awards and also won the Best Male Playback Singer award.  He considers KK and Ricky Martin as his idols, he considers Nusrat Ali Khan as his inspiration.  He has been honored with many awards many times.

 Background and career

 Early life - 1986 to 2007

 Ankit was born in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.  Happened in.  His family has a music troupe named Raju Suman & Party in Kanpur which performs at religious places.  His mother Suman Tiwari is also a singer.  His training in music started from his grandfather Krishna Narayan Tiwari when he was 3 years old.  By the age of seven, Ankit started playing dholak and tabla and by the time he was 8, he also learned to play the harmonium.  His family wanted him to complete his studies first but seeing his penchant for music, his family decided to train him professionally.  He took training in classical music from Vinod Kumar Dwivedi before taking training in Piano, Dhrupad and Western Vocals.  He used to practice for about 12 hours a day.  He studied at Jugal Devi Saraswati Vidya Mandir in Kanpur and won many local music competitions during that time.  Before moving to Mumbai, he also worked as a production head for a radio station in Gwalior.  After this he came to Mumbai with his brother Ankur Tiwari to make his future in the film industry and started living in Versova area of ​​Mumbai.


 2008-2012-Mumbai Launches and Early Releases

 In Mumbai he met Pradeep Sarkar who was working on a film at that time.  Sarkar gave him a chance to work on jingles along with other musicians.  At that time, Ankit composed many background scores for television programs.  In Sarkar's office, Tiwari met Habib Faisal, who offered Ankit to compose music for his debut film Do Dooni Chaar.  After this his brother Ankur Tiwari introduced him to Tigmanshu Dhulia for whom Ankit composed the theme song of the film Sahab Biwi Aur Gangster.  With this film, Ankit also made his singing debut and sang the song 'Saheb Bada Hathila' with Vipin Aneja.


 2013 to present

 In 2012, a friend of Ankit's Lucknow introduced him to Mahesh Bhatt.  Bhatt asked him to show his 5 best songs to Mohit Suri.  Ankit narrated them listening raha hai na tu which he had ready for a long time.  Mohit tells him that it will be used in the right film.  Later it was used for the film Aashiqui 2.  The female version of the same song was sung by Shreya Ghoshal.  For this he was also honored with awards.


 She made her debut in 2014 with the film The Saturday Night where her two songs Phalsafa Mera Phalsafa and Jhatak Ke Nacho did not get much response.  After this she sang the song Kaisa Hai Dard Mera in the film Kanchi, composed by Ismail Darbar.  Tiwari composed two songs for the film Samrat & Co.

 In July 2014, the song 'Kuch To Hua Hai' from the film Singham Returns was released, which she sang with Tulsi Kumar.  This song was written, sung, arranged and recorded in 24 hours.  He also composed the song Dil Darbadar from the film PK.  Of all his songs released during this period, the most successful and popular was 'Galiyan' of Ek Villain.
